Presented in conjunction with Avant Bard’s 11th Annual Scripts in Play Festival, Gracie vs. The People reimagines Henrik Ibsen’s An Enemy of the People with absurdism and contemporary humor. At a high school, toxins may be transforming students and teachers into unrecognizable creatures. As science collides with politics and power, the play asks: What happens when the inconvenient truth becomes unpopular, and how far will we go to confront it?
